The stunning and talented Ayesha Madon is making big moves on and off screen. The rising star burst onto the scene for her portrayal of high school student Amerie in Netflix’s reboot of Heartbreak High, catapulting her from Australian actress to global superstar (and singer-songwriter to boot). Now, the 25-year-old is preparing for season two while navigating the tricky world of overnight fame.
Recently, she attended an intimate dinner at Sydney’s Felix resturant, to celebrate Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle fragrance and the new face, Whitney Peak.
ELLE Australia caught up with the star to talk skincare routines, and why she’s approaching beauty in her own way.
Ayesha Madon’s Skincare Routine
Madon defines her approach to beauty as “impulsive” and dependent on her mood. In fact, she’s narrowed down the rota to a few key products she can always reach for.
For her morning routine, she keeps it simple with moisturiser and SPF (of course), with just a touch of mascara to get through the day, while her evening routine is all about cleanser and a viral retinol treatment.
AM:
- Okana AM Vegetable Garden Moisturiser (50ml, $28.95)
- SPF 50+
- CHANEL Noir Allure Mascara ($71)
- CHANEL Coco Mademoiselle EDP (100ml, $285)
PM:
- Okana Mango Sorbet Cleanser (50ml, $24.95)
- Kiehls Ultra Facial Moisturiser (125ml, $62)
- Paula’s Choice Retinol Treatment (30ml, $89)
How Ayesha Preps Her Skin For A Night Out
For a night out, Ayesha takes a more precise approach to priming her skin for a full face of make-up. At the Coco Mademoiselle dinner in Sydney, Madon walked us through her prep for the evening.
“We started with Chanel Le Lift Flash Eye Revitalizer patches to hydrate the under-eye area,” she began. “My makeup artist applied the N°1 DE Chanel Revitalizing Serum, followed by the N°1 DE Chanel Revitalizing Cream warmed on my fingers and pressed over the cheeks.
“An illuminating primer was applied to my cheek bones and bridge of nose for added radiance.”
What’s The One Beauty Product Always In Your Bag?
Madon says she always carries the Chanel Rouge Coco Flash in the light blush/tan ‘BOY’ shade.
“It’s a super subtle and a beautiful colour plus really hydrating,” the actress adds.
Who Is Your Beauty Inspiration?
“People who are unapologetically themselves and give me the space and encouragement to do the same,” Ayesha told ELLE Australia.
“I try not to model my own looks or personality after anyone specific, but people who I have the courage to be comfortable in their own skin and have their own idiolect in any capacity—be it beauty or fashion or art—really inspire me to do the same.”
What is one beauty look you’ve always wanted to try but haven’t done so yet?
“Laminated brows!”
(Editor’s note: here’s exactly what it’s like to get your brows laminated.)
Coco Mademoiselle is all about a young woman who moves towards her destiny to become who she truly is and wants to be. Do you relate to this message? Who is it that you truly want to become?
“Ever since I was little, I was always of the belief that if I really put my mind to it, I could do and be anything I could dream up,” Madon shares. “I whole heartedly believe young women are unstoppable. In terms of the person I want to become, it’s not definitive. It’s ever evolving and limitless and more than anything — happy.”
